I am a family nurse practitioner and a cardiovascular health researcher studying the development of health over the life course. I focus on the contribution of stress and adversity to cardiovascular health, and factors that promote health and wellbeing, especially in adolescent and young adult women of color. My research is informed by my clinical practice in community health centers with uninsured and underinsured individuals in urban and rural environments. I am currently developing research projects to examine opportunities within existing social networks for future cardiovascular health interventions and projects focused on individuals with cardiovascular complications in pregnancy and their preferences for support to recover and optimize their future cardiovascular health. I am committed to partnering with organizations committed to improving equity in cardiovascular health. Many hands make light(er) work!
