I am a researcher at the department of Macroeconomics and Public Finance at the Berlin office of RWI — Leibnitz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung, where I head the research group "Microstructure of Taxes and Transfers". I am a member of the IZA network.
My main research areas are public economics, labor economics, and macroeconomics. Besides, I work on macroeconomic forecasting, tax forecasting, and microsimulation.
I contribute to the quarterly macroeconomic forecasts at RWI and the biannual joint economic forecast of Germany's leading economic research institutes (Gemeinschaftsdiagnose). I represent the RWI in the Working Party on Tax Revenue Estimates (Arbeitskreis Steuerschätzungen) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Finance.
I completed my PhD in economics at the Free University of Berlin.
