I am an Associate Professor and the current Chair of the University of San Francisco's Department of Economics.  An updated version of my bio is available here.

My research asks economic, health, and social questions about our relationship with the environment, using methods and techniques from statistics and the physical sciences. Much of my work combines causal inference research designs from econometrics with machine learning and / or remote sensing data to better understand how the climate affects child health and well being around the world.
