Jesse Anttila-Hughes

I am an Associate Professor in the University of San Francisco's Department of EconomicsI am on sabbatical until Fall of 2024.

My research asks economic, health, and social questions about our relationship with the environment, using methods and techniques from statistics and the physical sciences. Much of my work combines causal inference econometrics with machine learning and / or remote sensing data to better understand how the climate affects child health and well being around the world.

Recent popular press coverage of my work can be found here, here, and here.

You can find me on email at, on Twitter @jesseXjesse,  on Bluesky , or bragging about my students on LinkedIn.
