About Jenny Loft

Jenny Loft holds a BA (Sculpture) from RMIT Melbourne, where she studied under Inge King and George Baldessin in the 1970s.

Her work The Last Ice Shelf : lost to a warming ocean was a finalist in the Waterhouse Art Prize 2014 and a Highly Commended finalist in the Toorak Sculpture Prize 2014.

In 2013 her work At the crossroads was acquired for the National Art Glass Collection of Australia. Whilst in 2016 her work Coastal Gothic was acquired for the RMIT University Art Collection.

Recent solo exhibitions at Stephen McLaughlan Gallery include Space Invaders, Reclaim the Night, Transitions and Proximity.

Group exhibitions include Ceremonial 2016 at Craft, Melbourne; Assignation 2018 curated by Stephen McLaughlan; Ensemble Wagga Wagga Art Gallery NSW;

Mind Maps : a cartography of glass in Australia, Craft Victoria 2005; Women's Salon : Place and Belonging 2010 Counihan Gallery Brunswick Victoria and

Bullseye by Design, Portland Oregon U.S.A. finalist 2001.

Ongoing professional development focusses on casting and mould making workshops with international glass artists : Alicia Lomne, U.S.A.; Donald Robertson and Susan Edgerley, Canada; Catharine Newell, U.S.A. and Jaromir Rybak, Czech Republic.

Mentored by Graham Stone, founding member of Ausglass, teacher and author.
