Jeffrey S. DeLo MD is from Morgantown, West Virginia. He attended West Virginia University and obtained his undergraduate degree Magna Cum Laude in Political Science while taking many advanced science classes such as organic chemistry, embryology and comparative anatomy. He attended medical school at West Virginia University and completed a 3 year Internal Medicine residency at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. Following his Internal Medicine residency, he completed a 3 year combined fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. At Hershey Medical Center he received additional training in hemophilia and bone marrow transplantation.
Following his fellowship he designed and served as the Director of the Patterson Cancer Care Center in Coudersport, PA. During his time as director of the Patterson Cancer Care Center, the cancer center incorporated clinical research trials and radiation oncology into its multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of cancer. He served as head of the hospital's Investigational Review Board, the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee, and was a member of the hospital's Board of Directors. He also served as Medical Director of the hospital's hospice program.
In 2009, after the small town of Coudersport, Pennsylvania lost its major employer (Adelphia Cable), he joined the Tulsa Cancer Institute and relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma. After becoming a full partner at the Tulsa Cancer Institute, he assisted in the design and financing of the 60 million dollar multidisciplinary Oncology Cancer Specialists and Research Institute. This center is the most comprehensive multidisciplinary cancer center in Tulsa, Oklahoma and features on site radiation oncology, diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, MRI, CT scan, nuclear medicine, chemotherapy infusion, and pharmacy. The center conducts numerous clinical trials allowing cancer patients access to new and upcoming cancer therapies. He served on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. He was appointed associate clinical professor at Oklahoma University and served as chief medical director of Grace Hospice.
He is married to his wife Larissa, a part time dentist, full time mother and former volleyball mom. Together they have four children, 3 girls and a boy (three older sisters, poor kid) and reside in Anderson, South Carolina. He presently works at the Anderson Area Cancer Center in Anderson, South Carolina. He was previously employed by AnMed Health and served as Medical Director for the AnMed Cancer Center in conjunction with the Levine Cancer Institute, based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
