Covoid 19 Driving Lessons Ts and Cs
Returning to your driving lessons - Terms and Conditions
Although returning to lessons is a positive step forward, my priority at this time is to keep all of my pupils, your families, myself and my own family safe.
The procedure for lessons is a little different than before lockdown and I am asking all of my pupils to read the following notes and respect the importance of these new stricter procedures:
My driving school car will be deep cleaned at the end of every work day.
Before every lesson I will disinfect key areas of my car: door handles, automatic gear lever, indicators, wipers and any other levers/buttons that you may touch.
I will contact you the evening before your lesson to ask how you are feeling. If you are feeling unwell you will not be allowed to attend your lesson. If yourself, a member of your family or a close friend, that you have been in recent contact with is unwell, if there is the slightest possibility that this could be Coronavirus - then you must inform me.
If you return from a holiday abroad I will not allow you to attend lessons for 2 weeks after your return date. For the purpose of your lessons - this applies to any destination abroad that you may have traveled to.
It is paramount that you do not come for your lesson if you know that you have or you suspect that you may have Coronavirus. If you think you may have Coronavirus then you would be expected to quarantine for the recommended government period of time.
These are the current government guidelines
If you develop these symptoms, however mild, or you have received a positive coronavirus (COVID-19) test result, then you should immediately self-isolate stay at home for at least 7 days from when your symptoms started. If you live with others, all other household members who remain well must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days.
Before your lesson I would like you to wash you hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. I would also like you to put on freshly cleaned clothes purposely for your lesson. I recommend that you remove these clothes after your lesson and pop then in the wash. Please dress in warm clothes if it is cold or raining as we will need to keep the windows partially open to allow air circulation.
Before you lesson I will take your temperature using a digital thermometer. If your temperature is above 37.8 *C then I will not be able to allow you to have your lesson.
Before your lesson I will supply hand gel for you to use.
Please bring a face mask with you as you will be expected to wear these for the duration of the lesson. If you forget one I can supply one to you for a fee of £1. If you wear glasses you may want to practice wearing them with the face mask so that you can adjust the face mask to get the best position for you to avoid steamed up your glasses.
Please be aware that I do charge for late cancellations of lessons and I also charge if a pupil does not turn up for a lesson. I have a strict 48 hours cancellation policy and if a lesson is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice I charge the full lesson price. However, should I refuse you a lesson after I have checked your temperature - if I feel that it is unsafe for you to have the lesson - I will at this point not charge you.
Please be aware that repeat cancellations may result in your space being given to another pupil. If you think a condition or personal problem could affect your attendance please discuss this with me prior to commencing lessons and then we can hatch a plan of action between ourselves.
Pupils who are learning with me in their own cars will need to make sure the car is cleaned thoroughly before lessons and that all door handles and leavers/buttons etc are disinfected. You will still be expected to wear a face mask. Please can I also ask you to check with your own insurance company that your insurance covers you for lessons with an instructor. Some polices allow this and some don't so it is very important that you check this before commencing lessons with me in your own car.
Best wishes
