Prof. Junho Choi received his bachelor’s degree in 1994 and his master’s degree in 1996 from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at Korea University. He worked as a researcher at Samsung Motor Corporation from 1996 to 1997. He earned his Ph.D. in 2000 from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tokyo. After working as a researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tokyo as a Lecturer in 2007 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2010. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tokyo City University. His research interests lie in surface engineering and tribology, with particular focus on superlubricity, super-liquid-repellent surfaces, triboelectric nanogenerators, and diamond-like carbon films.
