Interdisciplinary Studies
This book is interdisciplinary in its approach. I approach each subject from more than one knowledge discipline. A single discipline cannot cover all the issues. There is a reason for disciplines - the subject can be isolated [an absolute necessity for structured development] and limited so we can concentrate one part of the thesis. But it is time we looked beyond such narrowness and look at whole issues. These bariors make the process predictable, boring, constrained, and unproductive.
There is a problem with interdisciplinary work. When you cross disciplinary lines, you are a heretic to both disciplines. Of course that is the sad state of our intellectual community. The apparently most narrow minded group of scholars in history. We are forced to be in our own very small narrow-minded box. Then we can speak in the community. But we only can speak the same way (exactly) as everyone else in our box. So, actually, we are saying nothing; and we know we are saying nothing.
This book breaks down these barriers of regimented thought and studies many aspects of the issues being covered in an interdisciplinary way. This makes for an interesting read.
Some of the concepts and ideas in this book are developed from the Social Development Theory of Lev Vygotsky. Vygotsky held that cognitive development is based on the concept of genetics.
And on the concepts of Carl Jung and Wittgenstein.
