"Men rise and fall like winter wheat."
I have created this site for my "extended family:" friends, family members, colleagues & anyone who is interested in following my daily comings and goings. Here you will get a peak into my interests and research. You may also find some casual and special photos that you might not see otherwise. Please keep in mind that the site is always a work in progress. Please check back often for updated information, and if there is something you'd like to see that isn't here, don't hesitate to let me know!
I was born in the city of Jabalpur, India. I stayed in Jabalpur for first 14 years of my life. It is surrounded by low rocky mountains all around and exploring these mountains was one of my main childhood interest. Due to my father's transferable job, I stayed in various parts of India but only for a brief period of time. Finally I left my hometown and moved to Kota, Rajasthan to study at a boarding school.
I joined IIT Bombay in 2004 and stayed in Powai, Mumabi for next 4 years of my life till 2008. Given the geography of Mumbai, my interests varied from trekking, long distance biking, cross country marathon and of course exploring the variety of delicious food.
I came to US in Fall of 2008 joining UIUC as a PhD candidate. My extra-curricular activities and interests including mainly sports like tennis, squash, frisbee, badminton etc (no cricket :( ). I occasionally play billiards with friends and do indulge in outdoor activities like camping, travelling to unknown places. Being a mechanical engineering and due to my curious attitude I have always been interested in dexterous activities like fixing household things, bikes and more recently cars.
