An adjective (pang-uri) is a class of word that functions as a modifier of nouns. In Filipino, it has comparative and superlative prefixes.

maganda - beautiful
mas maganda - more beautiful
pinaka maganda - most beautiful
Using affixes with words to form adjectives
Affix ka indicates mutual relationship.
Halimbawa:
kapatid - sibling
kasayaw - dance partner
Affix ma indicates possession.
Halimbawa:
maganda - beautiful
mabuti - good
mabulaklak - flowery
Affix maka indicates inclination.
Halimbawa:
makabago - modern
makaluma - old-fashioned
Affix pala indicates frequency or habitual performance.
Halimbawa:
palaaral - studious
Affix pang (also, pam, pan) - for. Pang is used with words beginning with vowels and consonants k, g, h, m, n, ng, w and y. A hyphen is required for words that starts with a vowel.
Halimbawa:
pang-umaga - for morning
panghila - for pulling
While pam is used with words beginning with b and p.
Halimbawa:
pambayad - for payment
And pan is used with words beginning with d, l, r, s and t.

pantulog - for sleeping
