Welcome to my website
I am the Labor Program leader at the CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (since February 2024).
Until 2025 I was Associate Professor in the Development Economics Group at Wageningen University. I am affiliated as Research Fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) and Non-Resident Senior Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER.
My research interests are in the fields of labor economics, inequality, and economic development. Over the past years I have mainly studied the link between economic development and employment, including the impacts of structural transformation, globalization and technological change; and the determinants and consequences of women's labor market outcomes in low- and middle-income countries.
