Dr. Jannatun Noor is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of CSE, at BRAC University. She aims to create, develop, and implement sustainable systems tailored for societies facing resource constraints. Hence, she has established the ‘Computing for Sustainability and Social Good (C2SG) Research Group’, dedicated to the research and development of sustainable societies. Currently, her focus is on understanding the needs of under-served, underrepresented, and marginalized communities, then co-design, and co-develop systems for them. C2SG engages researchers from diverse fields such as computer science, biology, public health, environmental, and behavioral sciences. Her research, spanning HCI, deep learning, the Internet of Things, and cloud computing, focuses on practical applications contributing to societal well-being to provide solutions for underrepresented groups. Dr. Jannat has a decade of experience conducting research involving human participants and systems.

Dr. Jannat received the Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. degrees in Computer Science & Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Before BRACU, she worked as a Team Lead and Software Analyst of the IPV-Cloud team in IPvision Canada Inc. She has a diversified career and experiences. She received several grants for projects such as RSGI (BRAC Innovation Grant), Gary Marsden Travel Awards, IEEE Comsoc Travel Grant, etc. She supervised and co-authored several conference and journal papers like IEEE TCC, IEEE TDPS, ESWA, Nature Scientific Reports, IEEE IPCCC, ACM COMPASS, etc., and presented her papers at different well-reputed conferences. Jannat was awarded best paper awards, an ICT fellowship, Deans awards, Academic Merit Scholarships, etc.
