James Ledwith Memorial Scholarship to create a Permanent Endowment Fund at the Albuquerque Community Foundation

Post date: Sep 10, 2011 6:44:36 PM

The James Ledwith Memorial Scholarship has now been moved under the stewardship of the Albuquerque Community Foundation with the intent of creating a permanent endowment fund. Its mission is to recognize and assist deserving students with some financial assistance for their college education. Recipients are recognized for their hope, faith, courage and service to others, while continuing to pursue a "life dream" or professional / education goal in spite of facing extraordinary life challenges. Recognizing these deserving students honors James’ memory.

A important goal is to establish a permanent endowment fund, that would always be able to recognize and assist deserving students. Twenty Seven (27) scholarships have been granted in the 16 years since its beginning in 1997. Now under the stewardship of the Albuquerque Community Foundation we can permanently endow this scholarship, provided we can reach the minimum goal of $50,000. If you are touched by "James' Story" and wish to help deserving students in the future, you can help get the endowment established through your generous contributions. The endowment is already half funded. Please help support its mission by helping to fund the remaining requirements for the endowment.

We have also moved and redesigned the web site for both the James Ledwith Memorial Scholarship and James’ Story. Just remember www.JamesLedwith.com. Please check it out.
