I am a judge pro tem for Los Angeles county
Former trustee of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association (SFVBA)
Current member of the bench/bar committee of the SFVBA
All the good ADR names are taken and no major ADR providers have a valley office. They claim valley litigants do not mind driving "over the hill" and pay ridiculous high parking. That might be true, but at least now you have a choice.
While JCM is oriented to the valley, it welcomes litigators from Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange counties as well. Mr. Curry will gladly commute if necessary, and is available during the evenings and weekends at no extra charge.
JCM offers an experienced litigator and mediator. Mr. Curry has tried over 600 cases and mediated close to 1000 more, over a 30+ year legal career in the San Fernando Valley (specializing in personal injury). He is a judge pro tem, currently serves on the SFVBA Bench/Bar committee and is a former trustee of the Bar. Besides being a litigator, he also managed a law firm utilizing his Bachelor of Science degree in Business, and to personally handle many employment issues, giving him first-hand experience in employment law.
Mr. Curry specializes in last minute mediations as he is sensitive to how last minute discovery and events, such as experts and evidentiary rulings, can quickly change a case.
Mediation services should be reasonably priced with special attention to postponements and settlements. With JCM these issues are addressed in a manner which is fair to all. While the attachment fee schedule outlines JCM 's costs in detail, suffice it to say there is no "set-up" fee, no postponement fee and the maximum cancellation fee is two hours of the agreed upon hourly fee.
