The Jaguar Cross Country program's goal is to help Rochester, Minnesota area homeschool kids in grades 7-12 build their fitness, improve their running, learn a lifetime sport, and have the opportunity to compete in high school meets.
The season starts with optional captains' practices in early summer. Official practices start in August, and once the school year begins we compete in numerous junior-high and high school meets around southeastern Minnesota.
As a team we work hard at practices, but we also have a few traditional fun events: the Kings Park Relay Run, the Slowest Bike Race, the Plank Contest, Pumpkin Bowling and more! Many runners say that the supportive and encouraging environment and the friendships they build on the Jaguar team are key reasons they keep returning year after year.Â
Each August we host a Mini Cross Country Run for homeschooled students from pre-school age through sixth grade. Many of the competitors at the mini-run end up on the Jaguar team in years to come.
