Bio: Jaehwan Lee received his B.S. and M.S. degree in the School of Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University,   and his Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science at University of Maryland, College Park under the guidance of Dr. Alan Sussman and Dr. Pete Keleher. From 2000 to 2005, he was a Member of Technical Staff at Korea Telecom (KT) Convergence Laboratories. During his Ph.D., he worked for NEC Labs in America and Bell labs, Alcatel-lucent as a summer research staff. After his Ph.D., he has been a Research Scientist in System Architecture Lab in Samsung US lab. His research interests encompass networked and distributed system, high performance computing, and applications of computing system and security.  In KAU, he focuses two main research topics: 1)  High-performance I/O in HPC, and 2) Large-scale distributed deep learning SW platform.

He received General Electric (GE) scholarship, Government Fellowship for Korea Electrical Industry, and KOCSEA Jung Moon-jong scholarship. He was awarded the best paper award from IEEE conference on Cluster Computing, 2017.
