Our lab explores how wild birds respond to environmental stressors and ways to mitigate their impacts. We integrate physiology (e.g., hormones, parasites, immune response, body condition, isotopes), ecology (e.g., diversity, abundance, productivity), life history (e.g., reproductive success, survival), and behavior to advance avian stress biology and apply our findings to conservation and management. We use a variety of avian systems, including passerines, seabirds, shorebirds, marsh birds, and waterfowl.
