About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of California (PSY 26445). I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, an MA in Depth Psychology from Sonoma State University, and a BA from Rutgers College in Psychology and Philosophy.

In addition to seeing clients in a private practice setting, I am an Associate Professor in the Holistic Counseling Psychology Department at John F. Kennedy University (JFKU), Founding Director of the Depth Psychotherapy Program and Director of the Expressive Arts Therapy Program at JFKU. I have sat on the Board of Directors for the Association of Transpersonal Psychology and the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association, and I am Past-President of the San Francisco Psychological Association. My research and publications have been in the areas of mindfulness, self-compassion, spiritual diversity in clinical practice, dreams, and imagination. I have presented internationally on Jungian psychology, dreams, imagination, and spiritual diversity.

I treat young adults through elder clients, individuals and couples, with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety and depression. I specialize in trauma, relational issues, and life transitions, such as grief and end-of-life issues. I have training in Jungian psychotherapy, expressive arts therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindful-based therapy, somatic therapy, existential-humanist therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, emotionally-focused and attachment-based therapy, transpersonal therapy, and hypnosis, among others. I will bring in tools from these modalities, when it is appropriate to the client and clinical situation.
