Buffalo played all four years the league was in existence. In 1978, the team changed ownership and was renamed the Bisons.
The following are excerpts from the 1976 San Jose Sunbirds (Reprint 1) and 1976 Santa Ana Lionettes (Reprint 2) programs.
Reprint 1 – Buffalo, noted for the intensity and loyalty of its softball fans, may have something to cheer about this summer. Last year the amateur Breskis finished seventh in the nationals and believe they’ve picked up the strength to make them a powerful force in the new pro league. Cindy Breski – daughter of owner Henry – batted a resounding .667 in the nationals last year and in 1975 was the first woman ever honored by the Buffalo Athletic Club as Amateur Athlete of the year. Teammate Mary Ann Cardillo is believed to be one of the best power hitters in the league. She belted a pair of homers off Joan Joyce last year. Helen Nikiel and Liz Cousins also figure to star for the Breskis.
Reprint 2 – The Buffalo Breskis have signed an All American as well as several other top players from throughout the United States. Cindy Breski, 1st base, was named to the A.S.A. All Star Squad in 1975 after having batted .667 in the National Tournament. She is the first woman ever honored by the Buffalo Athletic Club as Amateur Athlete of the Year, 1975. Also to be seen in action will be pitchers Eva Bartley and Helen Nikiel, catcher Donna Rebadow and outfielders Mary Ann Cardillo and Liz Cousins.
