First Time at a National Event

Here is some additional information to help you, if this is your first time at a national event (also called an A meet).

The main differences you may notice is that

• • you have an assigned start time

  • you will be called to the start three minutes before your actual start time

  • you cannot look at the map before you start

  • the winning time is determined by combining the times from both Saturday and Sunday

Also, this is an individual competition, and a championship.  It is prohibited to give navigational assistance to anyone, even a team mate.
