Ishani Tewari
Ph.D., Economics
Professor & Chair, School of Business and Technology, Curry College
Hello! I have been a member of the faculty since 2016 at Curry College where I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Economics and Finance. Trained as an applied microeconomist, I earned my Ph.D. from Brown University and previously served as a Post-Doctoral Associate and Lecturer at the Yale School of Management.
My scholarly research follows two primary streams: the first explores banking and finance, while the second focuses on economic growth and development. This work has been featured in peer-reviewed journals including the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Economic Development and Cultural Change and the Journal of Financial Services Research. You can learn more at my Research Page.
My research on gender issues is particularly close to my heart and has inspired me to support and mentor women students as they navigate their own academic and professional paths.
Outside of work, I am a huge fan of noir detective and mystery novels, audiobooks, TV shows and podcasts. I find great joy in traveling with family, though my favorite pastimes are often closer to home: cooking, cheering at my kids' baseball and tennis games or listening to my daughter's music.
