DILAZAK PATHANS (KARLANI)
ABOUT DILAZAK
PATHANS (KARLANI)
During the Mughal period of SHAHJAHAN VARIOUS TRIBES/KHAILS/QABEELAS OF Pathans came to INDIA among them there was one DILAZAK KHAIL Here I will show you the family tree of Dilazaks Who are still living in a village now town of INDIA.
SHAHJAHANPUR WAS A VILLAGE NOW TOWN IN DISTRICT (MEERUT) U.P.INDIA
This village/Town is situated on main road which is called by the name of MEERUT GARH ROAD. The distance of SHAHJAHANPUR from MEERUT is about 30 KM and from GARHMUKTESHWAR IS 12KM.
FIRST OF ALL YOU WILL SEE THE FAMILY TREE OF DILAZAK KHAIL. In the FAMILY TREE you will see the origin of DILAZAK PATHANS.
In the family Tree of DILAZAK you will see one person namely MOHAMMED ABBAS KHANFOREFATHER OF VILLAGE SHAHJAHANPUR
MOHAMMED ABBAS KHAN came to INDIA during the Mughal period of SHAHJAHAN and organized to this village/Town as Shahjahanpur.
Today Shahjahanpur is a well known to every one and there is no need of any introduction because of DILAZAK PATHAN'S ethics, culture and tradition. Who are itself and still maintaining to their will & power among the other communities in the same manner as was earlier. The difference of prior to now is spoken language .The language of pathans is PASHTO but as on today pure URDU language spoken in this village/Town which also a symbol of this village for other casts, because of they can not speak the same in nearby villages/areas as well as in the main cities of WESTERN U.P.
There are various castes living in this village, now, town specially Riyaya Khidmatgar and Riyaya Gher Khidmatgar. But main domination is of:
DILAZAK’S
IN THIS VILLAGE/TOWN ALL DILAZAKS ARE LIVING IN VARIOUS MOHALLAS . NOW THE MAIN DILAZAK KHAIL IS SUB DIVIDED IN TO SMALL KHAILS WHICH IS CALLED KHANDAAN .ACCORDING TO THERE PAST HISTORY AS COMING FROM THE ORIGIN OF PATHANS.
In the light of the family tree of Dilazak Pathans as per the available documents, Later on I will try to explain about each KHAANDAN which is living in village, now, town SHAHJAHANPUR. Here it is also very important to explain that during the partition, PAKISTAN came in to existence and some families of different KHAANDANS of this Village/Town migrated to PAKISTAN and now they are living in different cities of PAKISTAN. The main aim is to introduce the history of this village/Town is to tell the present generation as well as to the coming generation about their forefathers, because the present generation is unable to tell more about their FATHERS and GRANDFATHERS .As of today there are few families who actually know that who were their FOREFATHERS, but they do not know that when and why their FOREFATHER came here and how this village/town came in to existence. Before this there were not historical accounts available about this village/Town SHAHJAHANPUR in the form of books but some families still continue to keep their SHAJRAS. It is also very important to explain that this village/town has already given the world many highly qualified personalities, which I will explain later on. At this point, the question which arises is that even though SHAHJAHANPUR has given the world many highly-qualified personalities, yet there has been no account of the DILAZAK Pathans id this village/town. But as of today, when I am writing this there is one personality in this village who has written about the HISTORY OF THIS VILLAGE in the form of a book with the titled "TAREEKHE AFGHANAN SHAHJAHANPUR, DISTRICT (MEERUT)/ (ELAQA SURKH MANARAI SHIVGI WA SHAHJAHANPUR DISTRICT(MEERUT) QABEELA DILAZAK (KARLANI)" authored by JANAB MARGHOOB AHMED KHAN KARLANI from the Mohalla Misri Khail SHAHJAHANPUR (MEERUT). This book was published in Feb/March-2005.
In this book author JANAB MARGHOOB AHMED KHAN KARLANI did his best efforts to EXPLAIN the history of this village/town and about DEEWAN MOHAMMED ABBAS KHAN, FOREFATHER .
WHY AND HOW THIS VILLAGE CAME IN TO EXISTANCE?
Allah knows better if it is true or not but the following instance has been passed down from generation to generation that once our FOREFATHER DEEWAN MOHAMMED ABBAS KHAN was passing from this place along with his soldiers and he stayed for some time. During the stay he saw some JACKALS and immediately ordered his soldiers to unleash the dogs on them. After the dogs had been unleashed, he saw that the jackal had alone killed the dogs, then he thought that if a JACKAL of this place could kill the dog then it is obvious that the people of this place will be very strong and then he decided to settle there because he though that his future generations will be brave.
When DEEWAN ABBAS KHAN came to India he stayed at different places including Delhi, ultimately he settled down permanently in this village. When he came to India and stayed in Delhi, then he joined the King JAHANGIR and AURANGZEB. After joining them he took part in different battles and showed his chivalry and bravery as warrior. With reference to the ALAMGEER NAMA when Birbal was killed along with his fifty thousand soldiers, in the same battle DEEWAN MOHAMMED ABBAS KHAN was also there along with his five thousand soldiers. ABULFAZAL explained his defeat in a bad manner that PATHANS are ”GHADDAR, KHOON KHUWAR, ZALIM and BAD TAREEN QISAM KA WEHSHI” but as written by an English author Pathans are "WELL BEHAVED, HUMBLE, FAITHFUL, AND GREAT WARRIORS". Word “AFGHAN”BAZBANE and in URDU PATHAN. The AFGHAN TRIBE always liked to live without any control over them by any ruler because they do not like any body ruling over them under any circumstances. DILAZAK PATHAN LIVED in KOH SULEMANI independently. But due to migration to IRAN, They tried to live in such a place where no ruler could rule over them. The place where they permanently settled was MANA RAI or SHIVGI. At that place no ruler was there to rule over them. This belt was almost hilly. DILAZAK PATHAN TRIBE likes that place due to hilly area which is modern-day AFGHANISTAN. Almost all AFGHAN Tribes still living independently and they are AFGHAN. In AFGHANISTAN the second name is PAKHTOON or PASHTOON, these tribes belong to different places but they all are AFGHANS. It means what they called upon but are PATHANS. All these tribes always like to live without any ruler as the history tells us itself. There are various contradictions among the historians about the PATHANS, as written by them, the origin of Pathans is from Qutbi, BANI QATOORAH, JABAL GHOR, KOH SULEMANI as a GHORI and SULEMANI also KHILJI
Conclusion of the history of DEEWAN MOHAMMED ABBAS KHAN is that he had four sons.
DAULAT KHAN was only the son among the FOUR sons whose generation is coming up in Village/Town SHAHJAHANPUR, DISTRICT (MEERUT). As you have already seen in SHAJRA that ORIGIN OF DILAZAK PATHAN’S(KARLANI). Here I am trying to explain only about Deewan Daulat Khan whose generation is living in SHAHJAHANPUR VILLAGE now town.
INTRODUCTION:- DEEWAN MOHAMMED ABBAS KHAN was migrated from his
native place MANARAI(BANRI) or SHIVGI SHIVA MARDAN to INDIA.
SHIVA is 12 mile far from MANARAI in the North West.
During the migration he stayed in the SARAI SUALEH Village of DILAZAK after that he came to JALANDHAR and stayed with his brother SED MOHAMMED KHAN who was living there permanently. He again left JALANDHAR and stayed for sometime in KHURJA AND BULAND SHEHAR in U.P. and after that he stayed in DELHI which was the capital during the reign of SHAHJAHAN. During his stay in Delhi he was very near to SHAHJAHAN. In 1632 he combined the two non populated Villages of TIGRI+KAKORI and give a name SHAHJAHANPUR.
He put the name because of SHAHABUDDIN MOHAMMED was the son of SHAHJAHAN. After his arrival to DELHI he join to the DARASHIKOH and in ACHRA LAHORE 22Oct1658 he resign and join to the AURANZEB and took the charge of HAZARI DO SAD SAWAR. With in five days again he took the charge of HAZARI CHAR SAD SAWAR and after three months on 22 JAN 1659 he further took over the charge of KO HAZARI PANCH SAD SAWAR..Further it also very important to explain that four sons came along with DEEWAN MOHAMMED ABBAS KHAN.
1-MOHAMMED KHAN:-Soobedar ORRISA which HUGLI,BANGAPUR,BIHAR near KOLKATTA. He permanently settled there. Now his generation is living there and there is no contact in between SHAHJAHANPUR VILLAGE NOW TOWN and HUGLI. His grave is in the SHAHEED WALA BAGH , SHAHJAHANPUR. He was killed in a battle.
2-DAULAT KHAN:- His generation is coming up in SHAHJAHANPUR.
3-JUNED KHAN :-He was migrated to RASOOLABAD which is now known as NANPUR. It is about half kilometer from SHAHJAHANPUR. Still JUNED KHAN'S generation is coming up there. NANPUR is also situated on main MEERUT , GARHMUKTESHWAR road in the east of SHAHJAHANPUR.
4-DILAWAR KHAN :-He was migrated to District Shahjahanpur in Mohalla DILAZAK or JALAL PURA. His generation is still there but there is no connection in SHAHJAHANPUR VILLAGE NOW TOWN and District SHAHJAHANPUR.
DILAZAK was a very big tribe. At that time TERKANEDI TRIBES were already settled in AFGHNISTAN nearby GHORI KHAIL,MEHMAND ZAI, and in KHAIBER AFRIDI which were in trouble due to the rise in their population. Along with DILAZAK KHAIL and other KHAILS were also settled in PESHAWAR near or up to the river and in the area CHHACHA HAZARA. The area of Peshawar was very Vast and under the control of DILAZAKS. There was a chance/space for more population of other khails. So DILAZAKS invited other KHAILS including YOUSUF ZAI, and asked them to settle down there permanently. MALIK AHMED KHAN was the SARDAR of YOUSUF ZAI KHAIL. After that DILAZAK handed over some area which was from Mehmand hills up to the river in between SWAT and river Sangam including MANCH,SABAD,MATA,KATOZI, ABAZAI ,TEGRAM which was handed over to the YOUSUF ZAI KHAIL. The main reason for the same was that some families of DILAZAKS migrated from these places. A huge population of DILAZAK KHAILS were there. HEBOO KHAN WAS THE SARDAR OF DILAZAKS and the area of BAJOD up to CHANDOL was under his control. Perhaps it was the great mistake of SARDAR HEBOO KHAN DILAZAK that he allowed the YOUSUF ZAI KHAIL in his TERRITORY. After that, a huge population of YOUSUF ZAI was also migrated there on invitation of SARDAR MALIK AHMED KHAN. After some time YOUSUF ZAI and KHALIL ZAI came together and attacked on DILAZAKS in which SARDAR HEBOO KHAN DILAZAK was killed by MEER JAMAl MUNDE and ultimately he captured all his valuable things like arms etc. It was very bad time for DILAZAKS because after capturing the territory of SARDAR MALIK HEBOO KHAN, YOUSUF ZAI and KHALIL ZAI distributed the captured territory between themselves. But after some time conflict started between SARDAR AHMED MALIK(YOUSUF ZAI) and KHALIL ZAI . KHALIL ZAI asked for help from SARDAR MALIK HEBOO KHAN DILAZAK’S SONS. Forgetting the previous conflict in which SARDAR MALIK HEBOO KHAN DILAZAK was killed, then they came together and attacked SARDAR MALIK AHMED KHAN YOUSUF ZAI. This attack was of very high intensity in which SARDAR MALIK AHMED KHAN YOUSUF ZAI ran away leaving the territory. Any how he reached NAWAGAI in 1517 after passing the GANDAB PANDAL and the other also migrated from there.
As explained earlier that there were four son of DEWAN MOHAMMED ABBAS KHAN and one of them was DEWAN DAULAT KHAN whose generation is still coming up in Village SHAHJAHANPUR NOW TOWN. During 1658-59 he participated in a battle from the side of MUGHAL RULER AURANGZEB along with his soldiers with a strength of “HAZARI PANCH SAD SAWR 1000/500”. On the other hand INAYAT KHAN SON OF DAULAT KHAN was on opposite side with a strength of soldiers“HAZARI PANCH SAD". MISRI KHAN SON OF DAULAT KHAN was also with his father with the strength of soldiers”HAZARI PANCHSAD”. NAHAR KHAN SON OF DAULAT KHAN was also there with a strength of soldiers”1000/2000.”After resigning from his service NAHAR KHAN settled down in DELHI and organize KOONCHA NAHAR KHAN which is still in existence with his name. All the above are in reference ALAM GEER NAMA.

MISRI KHAN was awarded due to his great abilities in the battle field and was given the JAGIRS of village GHOHRA and MUDAFRA(MUZAFFARA) which is today on Kithore Hapur road and also PHAPOONDA ,situated on MEERUT and HAPUR road, 8 km from Meerut. A garhi/pond was also constructed for his goodness whose debris can be seen today in GHORA. Occasionally he stayed in GHORA but his permanent and good residence was in PHAPOONDA, during old age he lived there and also died . HIS GRAVE IS ALSO THERE near to SHAH RUKNUDDIN grave in a Garden. Yearly a URS is being organized with a free meal to all DEVOTEE. Today people from different communities always went there for prayer (Mannat). There was a very old structure which was completely damaged but a shade was constructed by the Munshi Mohammed Tehsin Khan. He was also a great personality, BUZURG deendar . Some people say that Munshi ji was ALLAH wala, deendar and he belonged to the mohalla SHEHZAD GAAN, but migrated to MEERUT CITY and lived in JALI KOTHI which was the property of NADIR ALISHAH (baje wale). Because he worked for NADIR ALISHAH to look after his property including other work.
