Bottle Balance

Introduction

The bottle doesn't move because the center of mass is directly above the base of the piece of wood that holds the system, which when balanced will stay standing, but if the system is not balanced the bottle and the wooden holder will fall over.

Principle

This is also due to torque:

Torque= force x Distance from center of mass, when force is measured in Newtons, and distance is measured in meters.

Materials

• 1 Bottle (it does not matter if it is empty or not)

• 1 bottle balance

There is absolutely nothing holding the bottle up... other than THE LAWS OF PHYSICS!
