The human mind evolved under conditions that differ profoundly from those of the modern world. As a result, cognitive mechanisms that were once adaptive can become maladaptive in contemporary environments. In our lab, we investigate the mechanisms underlying these mismatches, with a particular focus on decision-making. To do so, we adopt an interdisciplinary approach drawing on methods from psychology, neuroscience, and computer science.
