Holiday Benefit Event

The Holiday Benefit on December 17th helped us get off to a very good start for 2012. The event gave us chance to celebrate students’ success and strengthen our base for continuing to help students go to school. Though IPE partners in Africa could not attend the event, they were present in spirit, an essential element for IPE success. As a result of many peoples’ contributions, IPE raised over $2000.00. This is about one third of our current annual budget. We thank all of you who planned, hosted, entertained, offered a silent auction item, and/or attended. Thanks to Christine Hartmann who designed a beautiful flyer, to the Pool Boys (Lars Bland, Steve Malin, and Peter Kish) who provided great music for free, and to the owners and staff of Christy’s Landing who offered a hospitable atmosphere and superb service. The silent auction was well supplied by generous individuals and businesses as you can see on page 3. Dorothy Solheim provide cake and flowers. Jackie O’Brien and Li Miller ably assisted throughout the evening. Your attendance and contributions, the success of IPE students, and the hard work of board members and volunteers in Africa, Japan and the US, provide a great launch for 2012.
