Efficiency of our proposed scheme

NOTE: The breakdown performance of our ipa file collection is depicted in our paper. In our paper, we compare the performance with the state-of-the-art research <Understanding iOS-based Crowdturfing Through Hidden UI Analysis> with a result of 17x promotion.

This below ancient comparison with a self-designed experiment is out of date.

Highlights of the iOS app collection do not limit to the headless-downloader, the binary decryption process promote the performance too. To prove that, we randomly choose 600 apps to make a survey. Some statistical data is depicted as below.

The decryption process is separated into 5 stages. The differential between our methodology and others’ depicts below explains the competence of our methodology.

The marked three steps dramatically reduce overhead when exchanging data between iOS device and desktop computer via USB connection. (column `Decrypt via frida-ios-dump (#s)` and `Decrypt via our methodology (#s)`).

Network speed is indeed a limitation for collecting iOS app, but the decrypting process is another bottleneck as you can see in the table.

The solution is 23.75 times faster than the state-of-art collection methods.
