About this lecture:

Our goal in this lecture is to discuss the comparison of Gross Domestic Product – which is considered to be a measure of National wealth. Can we compare these numbers to see if wealth has been increasing? Can we compare to see which nation is richer and which is poorer? As we will see, the answer to these apparently simple questions is much more difficult than it appears to be on the surface. There are many ways to present the same set of numbers. Depending on our goals, we can make use the same data to make different types of arguments. Before we discuss the GDP concept itself, we start with some preliminary discussion on the nature of Statistics.
