In the long history of Sinhala Music, there are numerous everlasting super hits lingering in our memory. Unfortunately, we are unable to hear them today, as most songs were not preserved or reproduced. Although, our music heritage is rich with such songs, no one has bothered creating at least an instrumental version of them. Unlike in other countries, Sri Lankan younger generations are unaware of the existence of such beautiful songs.

In this iPod era, continuously playable collection of instrumental music is a must for a music lover belongs to any ethnicity or country. Sadly, this is another lacking necessity in Sri Lankan Singhala Music. Commercial Producers in our music industry have overlooked this need (maybe due to lack of commercial viability, compared to production cost). Only a very few instrumental albums available in Singhala Music and in them too, mostly a common set of monotonous songs has been included.

My effort of producing SAWANA was inspired by these necessities, which I personally felt as a music lover and thought of sharing SAWANA, as it may provide some listening pleasure and relaxation to others as well. In my Instrumental Albums I have included a wide variety of songs ranging from recent to very old hits. SAWANA Albums are filled with a few latest songs of young singers such as Shihan, Kasun, Chamika etc. and many Golden Oldies of veteran singers like Jothi, Latha, Sujatha, Milton, Sunil, Victor, Priya, Milroy, Indrani, TM, Clarence, Neela, Sanath, Abey, Niranjala, Anjaline, Edward, Charitha etc. Variety ranges from Movie Songs to old Group Songs and popular Lullabies to Dancing Hits! The music of the 60's, 70's and 80's holds a special memory for those of us who grew up with it. It was music you could sing along with, music you could dance to, music you fell in love with.

Producing 400+ full length Instrumental Music Tracks by an Orchestra, involving just “Two Hands” is not an easy task by any means! It took at least six months for me to complete each SAWANA album and I have entirely devoted my spare time to produce them (since I am not a professional musician). Thousands of music fans worldwide, who visit this site to listen /download FREE Instrumental Music would understand if they find any shortcomings.

This effort is a Tribute to all our living or deceased Music Composers, Producers, Lyricists and Singers who created so many unforgettable songs. I wish to thank all visitors who commented and encouraged me to do this many Albums. Thanks to Google for providing this Web space. I am grateful to my family for supporting me to make this possible.
