PART I

inLASER technologies

The inLASER concept: an animation based introduction (3:39)

A short animation showing the inLASER mould concept and injection operations. Animation created by Nelson Oliveira; narration by Eduardo Beira.

The full inLASER manufacturing cycle (3:48)

The full cycle in the real manufacturing cell: machines and operations.

The case study: original and new lightning parts (4:37)

From the original rear part for the Kawasaky K125 bike to the new redesigned rear light, using the 3D models of both parts, as shown by one the mould designers (Filipe Brito)

The mould (explained by one of the designers) (12:01)

A detailed visit to the 3D model of the inLASER final mould, narrated by Filipe Brito, one of the mould designers.

inLASER technologies: the process and the manufacturing cell (8:08)

Description of the manufacturing cell components and operations, comments by Eduardo Beira.

PART II

inLASER project history: events

An internship in Paris (France) (5:55)

Scenes of the daily life of Nelson Oliveira during his internship in Technocentre Renault

Tests of injection and over-moulding of the electric circuit (5:48)

Preliminary micro injection tests of the polimeric electric circuit and overmoulding of the leds into the circuit

.

Laser protection systems (3:06)

Descriprion of the laser protection systems built in the laser tests roon and also un the manufacturing cell, next to the injection machine. Narration by Eduardo Beira.

The laser system arrives at Piep (3:15)

Arrival of the laser system to Piep. Nelson Oliveira opens the packs and shows the components for the next step (assembling the manufacturing cell)

Tests of laser welding of plastics (6:06)

Preliminary tests of welding of the plastics of the rear light with the laser system: bench tests and next tests of the strenght of the union between the two different plastics.

Designing the mould (5:33)

The first meetings to discuss the design of the inLASER mould, in Olesa plant. A short imnternship of Nelson Oliveira in Olesa, after returning from France.

The preliminary mould for the electric circuit (7:50)

Manufacturing of the first mould to test the injection of the electric circuit and the overmoulding of leds. Scenes from the shopfloor in Olesa: machining the mould and the electrodes.

Problem solving: the insulating plate against the overheating of the circuit (17:13)

This recording captures a session of phone based problem solving: searching for  a solution to the overheating of the electric circuit during the manufacturing cycle. A remote discussion between engineers: the role of the language and of the common use of the 3D CAD model of the mould.
