After learning that I was going to do my project on Inertia I decided to try and observe it in our everyday life. I was able to keep an eye out for it and observe it when I performed my demonstrations. These demonstrations showed how an object would remain at rest if there was no greater force acting upon it. In my first demonstration you could obviously see that the rock was able to take in all that force without transferring it to glass. Another one is with the water bottle. I was able to pull it up with a constant and steady force, but once I tried pulling it as fast as possible the string could not handle the weight of the water bottle. Which you can obviously tell was unaffected by the string because of its inertia.
Journal 1 December 14 2013: I gathered all the materials I needed and brought it to the science classroom.
Journal 2 December 14 2013: I set up all my materials and am about to perform the first demonstration.
Journal 3 December 14 2013: After my first demonstration I noticed how a rock to take all the impact and not allow the force to break the glass under it. After I took off the rock I hit it once and it instantly broke.
Journal 4 December 14 2013: I finished my second demonstration and I observed that the weight of the dime was unaffected by the force that the card under it had. This caused the dime to stay in place and not move at all.
Journal 5 December 14 2013: I finished all my demonstrations with the final one that included the use of a string and a water bottle. I tried to tug at the water bottle with the string but the water bottle had an outweighing inertia that cause the string to have way too much tension and therefore rip.
