It is highly recommend that participants establish a Display Name. This can be their name, a nickname, boat name etc. Providing a Display Name helps other members recognize you. This is further supplemented by providing your name and boat information at the bottom of you discussion post. My Member Settings can be found on the lower end of the left menu bar
Establishing your email preference criteria is also an area often overlooked. There are several options available and are described on the following view. If you are concerned about email clutter the “daily summaries” that arrive with the subject: “Abridged summary of INA-Nonsuch-Discussion-Group@googlegroups.com” including the number of updates for the number of topics is a good alternative. The topics are listed and you can link directly to the topic from the email list.
Email Options:
“No email”: member must go to Discussion Group to see discussions
“Each email”; member is emailed every new or update to discussions
“Abridged”: one daily email listing topics and updates; pick to link to full discussion. Usually listing yesterday’s changes
“Digest”; an email update is sent once 25 changes have occurred.
