With a 'stamp' (maximum pressure in the boiler) fixed at the high level of 20 Hectopièzes (that is 20 Bars), SNCF 141 P produced a traction effort in the starting up of 16.850 KgForce (or 165 KNewton). The produced power reached the 2000 CV at 70 kph.
The maximum speed in service was fixed to 105 kph.
In coast of 3.4 per 1000, and dragging a 500 tons convoy, the maitened speed was 100 kph. We can remember that 500 tons represent a train of 16 cars loaded in 22 tons.
All these characteristics were held to configure the motorization of the model. But be careful when you compose your consist : some configurations of cars are risky and can result in far too heavy trains, or ridiculously light. For every type of car, note the unitarian weight (" mass ") of a unit of the goods to be transported. Then, multiply this value by the maximum number of unit which your car can load.
The total weight of the vacuous cars + the load does not have to exceed 500 tons.
In the driving :
If you like the cabin mode, here is how to optimize your walking.
In the starting up, open the water injector of 4 notches, completely push the HP regulator, hit the V touch to activate the sand pit and turn at most the cutoff wheel.
After the departure, hit again the V touch to desactivate the sand pit, and release gradually the cutoff wheel as indicated bellow :
(Speed) (Cutoff position)
These values may vary according to the load and the slope.
In the course of walking, Watch that the water level remains near 40%.
