Independence Day (2015) Celebrations

The 69th Independence Day of India was celebrated at Ekalavya School, MK Nagar on 15th August, 2015. Inequality of rights and disparity of opportunities have caused political and social revolutions. Having found Monarchy and Aristocracy unacceptable, people welcomed democracy which promised political equality. It is certainly a grand deal. George Bernard Shaw called it “a social order aiming at the greatest available welfare for the whole population and not for a class”. All agree that a real democracy must satisfy three conditions – it must aim at the greatest good of the largest number. It must settle differences through discussions and compromise. It must work for the establishment of a classless society. India, being the largest democracy in the world, has satisfied these conditions and playing a very crucial role in the international arena.

The Independence Day of India was celebrated in a very pompous and splendid way at the Ekalavya School. The chief guest for this grand occasion was Dr. V.Sadanand Rao who received the salute from the school children during the disciplined March Past which was acclaimed by one and all. The National Flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest Dr. V.Sadanand Rao, a reputed and an eminent doctor in the society with 26 years of experience in the field of medicine. He serves the people in his own clinic by name V.S.R clinic by providing all the facilities and equipment for the people in need and giving his helping hand.

All of us were immersed in a very emotional and intense feeling of oneness, as the sons of our country by hoisting the National Flag.This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem and Prayer Song.

In his nostalgic address, the Chief Guest recalled the contributions of our freedom fighters, he gave a clarion call to the younger generations to live up to the expectations of the motherland. He encouraged the students to work hard and become worthy and responsible citizens of the country.

The School Head Mistress Ms. Asiya Begum in her welcome speech highlighted the value of Indian education which can be seen in the fact that a good number of Indians have been working in foreign countries as doctors, scientists, IT experts etc.

The lamp was lighted and prize distribution was followed by it.
