Plant A Tree Save The Nature

The 'Haritha Haram' programme which was initiated by education department in the year 2016. To bring the awareness among the students and all the citizens to grow plants and to take care of it.

It was started by the Chief Minister of Telangana Sri.K. Chandrashekhar Rao.

The first objective is sought to be achieved by a multi-pronged approach of rejuvenating degraded forests, ensuring more effective protection of forests against smuggling, encroachment, fire, grazing and intensive soil and moisture conservation measures following the watershed approach.

It was a flagship programme of the Telangana Government envisages to increase the present 24% tree cover in the state to 33% of the total

geographical area of the State. The thrust areas to achieve the above are two- fold; one, initiatives in notified forest areas, and other, initiatives in areas outside the notified forest areas.

The students of Future School took part in this programme this year. Many saplings were provided to the students. The students along with their teachers planted the saplings in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering College.

The programme was held from 3:00 to 4’0 clock in the evening. The students enjoyed the planting. They were also taught how to take care of the trees and how to save the nature, as it it is important to one’s life

Goals:

1. Protecting and rejuvenating the Existing Forests.

2. Taking massive plantation programme outside forest areas under Social Forestry.

3. Encouraging plantation activities in RoFR areas.

4. Planting in Urban Residential Colonies.

5. Forest Protection- against fire, grazing, poaching etc.
