Research Interests

The overarching goal of my research program stems from one of the great challenges for cognitive science and developmental psychology, which is to explain the discontinuities between the conceptual systems of human adults and those of human infants and other non-human animals. How are highly abstract concepts like infinity, force, life, death, and many others constructed over ontogenesis and over historical time? These and other similar questions motivate my research program and I approach them from several different perspectives.
