Programs conducted by IEDC

  1. A expert talk on various Funding schemes available for the student projects as well as faculty research projects by Dean –Research KTU, Member – CERD was organised on 04th May 2017.
  2. IoT club CEAR-IOT, inagural function and Session on IoT conducted on April 01 2017. The Club was inaugurated by Dr. Umesh P, AP in Mathematics and Cheif Technical Advisor to IEDC.
  3. A 2-day workshop on “Innovation and Idea Generation” was organized for the first year students by our startup OFB during 24th and 25th August 2017. The sessions were led by Mr Sabarinath K, CEO of IEDC and Founder CEO of OFB along with Arjun CP, COO of IEDC.
  4. One-day “Beginner's IoT Workshop” – Basic level hands on IoT workshop which introduced the Aurdino and its basic programming to students. The programme was conducted for the S5 and S3 students by the trained senior students from the IoT Club – CEAR-IoT on 26th August 2017.
  5. "Crafts n Creation" - Maker week workshop during 11th to 17th September 2017. The workshop was a week-long evening program to enhace the creativity and prototyping skills of the students. As part of the workshop the students designed and fabricated our new IEDC Room.
  6. A 2 day workshop on "ANDROID APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT" organized by the IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell) of College of Engineering Aranmula. Attended students learned to develop applications in the latest operating system with practical implementation and began managing their own cool applications at this workshop. Attendees were provided with instructions to build and manage android applications. The workshop sessions will be handled by trainers from the Startup "Softonics Innovations" incubated at the VJ Inspire, IEDC VJEC.
  7. A 2 day workshop on "Python Programming and Django" is organized by the IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell) of College of Engineering Aranmula. The workshop was handled by Mr. Shahul Hameed, Lead Product Engineer at Entri Tech Pvt. Ltd.
  8. VAIBHAVAM - an innovation challenge programme for plus two students by IEDC of College of Engineering Aranmula. It was a three level innovation hackathon. Preliminary screening test was conducted at respective schools. Principal/ A teacher assigned by the principal monitored the exam. A facilitator from IEDC were also provided to coordinate exam. Duration of test will be one hour. The shortlisted students/ student group from the preliminary screening test were invited to attend a one-day innovation Hackathon workshop on January 25, 2018, at College of Engineering Aranmula. Students were introduced to various steps in innovation and ideation during this workshop. A Case study of innovation and various creativity games to boost the innovation were also conducted during the workshop. Further, these students are invited to present their innovative product ideas in front of the panel in May end (the date will be intimated ). The selected ideas will get prize as well as a chance to attend free 7-day innovation challenge workshop during June 2018.
  9. Workshop Day – A workshop day was organized on 22nd October by the CEARIOT club on behalf of IEDC. There were 4 parallel one day workshops on the relevance of IoT in Civil, Computer, Electrical and Electronics branches of Engineering. Students from various colleges attended the event.
  10. OUT OF SYLLABUS - Rohit Radhakrishnan, CEO of Openfuel based in IIM Ahmedabad (Learning Partner with Startup India and Community Partner with Kerala Startup Mission) conducted the #outofsyllabus startup bootcamp at our campus on 5th March 2018. The #outofsyllabus startup bootcamp for students was a part of the National initiative to activate student startups in campuses.
