Authenticates students using two-factor authentication
Can be used to strengthen test integrity for high-stakes exams
Design of Assignments
Set up discussion board to prevent viewing of classmates' posts before posting
Have them produce things only they could produce (non-duplicative tasks)
Have activities where collaboration or sharing is required
Create progressive (iterative) papers or scaffolded assignments
Require a concept paper/project plan
Require annotated bibliographies
Require presentations as part of an assignment
Provide students with rubrics to inform them about expectations
Use a variety of assignments throughout the class
Alternate assignments from term to term or class to class
Design of Exams
Require students to agree to an academic integrity statement before beginning a test or submitting an assignment:
"I verify I am the only one taking the exam and that no one is helping me physically or electronically. I won't copy the exam in whole or in part. I will refrain from discussing this exam with anyone until after the due date. I will adhere to the UIS academic integrity policy."
Write test questions for unique responses
Use questions that require critical thinking
Use question pools, if beneficial
Randomize order of questions
Use completion time limits
Limit question feedback until all students' tests have been graded
