Pre-conference Workshop: Social Media and Inclusion by Libraries

A one-day workshop will be held to guide participants on the application of social media in enhancing inclusion and outreach by libraries.

This is intended as a practical workshop, as participants will work in groups to learn to apply one or more social media to realize their goals.

The following is a tentative schedule of activities, aiming to give participants an overview of libraries’ use of social media, and then opportunities to practise ways of using social media.

9.00 AM to 10.30 AM A review of how different libraries make use of social media to enhance the inclusion and outreach by libraries 
11.00 AM to 12.45 PM Hands-on experience on using various social media. Selection of one or more social media to help improve th inclusion and outreach by libraries 
12.45 PM to 2 PM Lunch 
2.00 PM to 4.00 PM Practice of using the selected social media to build the necessary online environment 
4.00 PM to 5.00 PM Participants’ sharing of their works, and final summary discussion
