Introduction to the study “Why Pray in Tongues?”
Thank you, Jesus for another time to learn about your Word which is you. You are merciful towards us. We receive light from you in Jesus’ name.
Thank you for joining us for another Bible study session. Just as an iron cannot sharpen itself, we need one another in this walk with God and we are glad you are here. For the next few weeks we will be discussing why believers should pray in tongues. We will be referencing the Kenneth Hagin’s book “Why Tongues”. I was told Goodreads have it freely available. It is a 37-page book that is very powerful.
What to expect from this study
The ultimate goal of this study is to get believers to make praying in tongues a regular practice
Understand why praying in tongues is important
Differentiate between praying in tongues as a gift of the spirit and as a private practice
We will be having discussions and live practice sessions through mixlr
We have 11 facilitators for this series and their notes will be made available after their discussion. The notes will be uploaded here and also on our website. Discussion schedule can be found on our website https://sites.google.com/site/icallufriendz/discussion-notes?authuser=0
How the live prayer session works
The Bible has instructed us that we be not hearers alone but also doers of the Word we hear. since we are discussing praying in tongues, we will be having the actual praying in tongues sessions live on mixlr
The LIVE prayer session will have 2 options
You can tune in Live on mixlr here
You can type "starting" on the Whatsapp group page when you start and "completed" when you complete it. The purpose of this accountability plan is to go through these practice sessions as a group and also encourage one another along the way.
