Reflection on the book “Why Tongues?”
Reason #9— Praying in Tongues gives spiritual refreshing
Discussion Day 10 by Olakanmi Olagoke
Isaiah 28:11-12 New King James Version (NKJV) 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, 12 To whom He said, “This is the rest with which. You may cause the weary to rest,”. And, “This is the refreshing”; Yet they would not hear.
Praying in other tongues helps us to enter into rest especially when our souls are weary. Often times, the cares of this world and the busyness of the world makes us weary. Speaking in tongues helps us to put our mind to rest, focusing on the greatness of God and the smallness of every other things.
Praying in tongues helps us to be refreshed meaning to be fresh again. It helps to reinvigorate lost passion, lost dreams. The Holy Spirit wants to reactivate dead things and replenish things that has been used up. Think of it as a battery being recharged and refreshed, ready to go for another season of productivity.
Bro Hagin compared it to taking a vacation but we have the opportunity to have this vacation everyday from the hassles of life.
Herein is rest, and herein is the refreshing, even if it is 5 minutes at a stretch, it will charge you up and make you go further.
