Our hearts are open to hear from you gain tonight. Amen.
Discussion
Tonight we will be taking some questions and answers. Please note that I do not have full answers to any of the questions asked here. God reveals Himself to us in measure so I can only share from the level of light God has given to me. Feel free to search the scriptures for answers and challenge whatever response that does not settle with your spirit especially asking the one who has been sent to teach us ALL things
Q: Why do you want to be protected to live long?
Someone said, if we must win this battle, we need to remind ourselves why we are fighting it in the first place. I have heard people give different answers to this and maybe there is no one answer. Sometimes we think, oh I don’t want my children to be without parents. But we have seen people without parents and God took care of them even better than their parents could have. We may think ah! So that the load of two people won't be turned to one person's own. What if God increases the capacity of that one person? Why don’t you want to be kidnapped? Because you don’t have ransom? So if people are able to contribute the ransom, you are free to be kidnapped? These are questions we must sit down and get to their root with all honesty. There is no absolute answer but there are consequences for all the answers. Some key things to note are God's Word talks about a) living to declare the glory of God in the land of the living b) living to conquer more lands. Joshua 13:1 When Joshua was very old, the Lord said to him, “Joshua, you have grown old, but there is still much land for you to ·take [possess; conquer]. God has assignments for us here on earth that he needs us to carry out. Gen 25:8 "Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
Q: How about other believers I know who have lost their lives, why didn’t God save them?
This is an excellent question that only God can answer. However, the experience of others do not change the truth about God's Word. there was a time the disciples asked Jesus, you told us we could cast out demons but we could not cast out this one why? whenever it seems as if the reality before us is contradicting what God's Word has said, it will do us good to be like the disciples and ask Jesus why rather than build a theology around what is not certain. I've seen people build a theology around this and say whenever you pray and it doesn't happen, add fasting but that's not true. it will be whenever your result contradict God's Word, ASK Jesus why? Jesus didn't rebuke them, He explained to them.
Q: What is the primary way through which God protect us?
Through His leadership. When we trust him, He leads us in the way that we should go. We have seen examples in Joseph, how he led them to avoid the famine. Also, Noah, He warned Him about the impending danger. Also Paul, how He said I perceive this ship will wreck. There are other times that he leads us into the storm like Jesus was in the boat with the disciples. At such instance, we can trust Him for protection because He will.
Q: What if I don’t hear or know when He is leading me? What if I miss the instruction?
We shared a video earlier in the week about the blood of Jesus. It is one of the benefit of taking communion regularly, we can plead the blood of Jesus to have mercy on us. Please see that short video again with more explanation on this. (will be posted at the end)
Q: If someone comes in now and attack me, what should I say or do?
You don’t need to know what you will say. All you need do is keep listening to God's Word now and meditating on it. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit of God within you will raise up a standard against them (Ish 59:19). The battle is often won before the day of battle. Just like the testimony that was shared, it was not during the accident that she started thinking of what to say or do; she had spent the previous days meditating on the Word of God. Sometimes in the place of meditation, God will give you instructions you need to adhere to, sometimes he could tell you stop going out that early. Atimes, he will order your step to be in a conversation where people are discussing about how notorious a road is and he would nudge you to not go.
Q: I want God to save me by sending angels can he do that?
Unfortunately, we don’t call the shot he does. He decides how he wants to save us. He has many ways and He chooses the way. To save Jesus, he told His parents, carry him and hide him. He had earlier sent angel to announce his birth but he chose to not send angels to protect him. To save Noah, He said build an ark and put your family in it. To protect the Israelites He said put the blood on your doorstep. To save Peter, he broke His chains and walked him out of the prison. To save the Israelites, he told Moses to stretch the road and asked them to walk on dry lands but for Jesus, he didn’t part the sea, he walked on it. All we need to do is to keep building our trust in Him and reminding ourselves of His Word.
Q: I have used my mouth to say negative things like not believing in long life, how do I cancel them?
The blood and the Word are very powerful in blotting out handwritings and wrongly spoken words. Take time to repent of your words before God and declare a blotting out of every wrong words by the blood. align yourself and your words with God's Word and start to Speak life instead of death.
Q: I continually speak life to my family but my partner keeps confessing death, how can I help them?
This is a very serious question and I do not have all the answers. Bible tell us individuals have power over their own lives. Of all the dominion he gave us at creation, he did not give us power over other people's spirit. He gave us power over every other creation but not over other humans. Even in the salvation of loved ones, we can only ask that the veil is taken away, they still have to confess by themselves. If someone keeps using their tongue to call death to themselves and call sickness and say oh its not how long but how well, the good we can do is to show them what God's Word has said and to plead for God's mercy over them. They have a choice to see God's Word and choose it or reject it. I believe there's an exception for children though, since they don’t yet have a mind of their own, we can do a lot on their behalf.
Feel free to share with us how you have been building trust in the midst of the uncertainties around you.
2 Timothy 2:2 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
