Chapter Summary: In today's study, we will learn how to (1) convert beliefs into victories (2) commit God to His Words by your actions.
If we want to enter into the realm of fulfilled promises and turn situations around in our favor, no matter how dire, we need to take God at His Word and act like His Words are true (because they are!).
Come, let’s dig deeper
In Exodus 32, we read the story of the rebellion of the children of Israel when they built the golden calf and worshiped it while Moses was up on the Mount. This provoked God and He wanted to destroy Israel but there was a man, Moses who knew God and reminded God of His word. God repented. While interceding for Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham said 'far be it from God to destroy the wicked with the righteous...' He knew what God said and His integrity and He expected God to honor it. Lot and his family were saved because Abraham acted on God’s Word.
No matter how gloomy your situation is, you can turn the situation around if you would act like God's word is true. Bro Hagin often told the story of how he recovered from the deathbed because he found out the Bible said he could have whatever he said (Mark 11:23). He built his case by cross referencing scriptures to discover that by the stripes of Jesus, he had been healed (Is 53:5,1 Pet 2:24) and he got up from the bed and hanged on to the rail as he tried to stand up. Gradually, strength returned to his bones and he lived and did not die. He recalled that after building faith on God's word about his healing, the Holy Spirit said on his inside ‘Now you believe that you are healed, do act like it is so'. In fact, he was so confident that it would happen that he asked his mum to lay out his clothes and set the table as he would be joining them for breakfast! Glory to God!
When you act like God's word is true, you can expect Him to amplify your efforts and vindicate you. In Acts 27, when Paul was shipwrecked, he told his fellow travelers that he was convinced that no harm would come to them and to prove it, he took bread and ate (Acts 27:33-36). As far as he was concerned, anything else they did was in unbelief (they didn't add on extra days of fast. There is a place for fasting, but it won't replace acting on God's word)
Learn to take your eyes off circumstances, people and your own in(abilities) and trust that God is not a man that he should lie. His Word is true about your health, career, academics or whatever areas to turn impossible situations around. Like someone said,' work the Word because the Word works.'
Take those promises of God and rehearse them before God in prayers. Tell Him you trust that His Word is true. Listen on your inside for whatever instructions that pop up in your spirit and your situation will turn around. Praise God!
ACTION POINTS
1. The first place to act on God’s Word is in our thinking. Let it change the way you think. His Word has said He will satisfy you with long life, stop thinking that you may die anytime at any age. Think longevity.
2. Speak it: We need to act out God’s Word by speaking what He is saying and not what our situation is saying.
3. Act on the image He places in your heart: Pray until you see an image form in your heart.
4. Act on the instructions He places in your heart: Whatever He asks you to do, do it
