Testimony 1: Kidnapped- A Psalms 91 Story
Summary
The testimony of Mary Johnson's rescue from the den of kidnappers. Mary Johnson was Kidnapped by a young man in a van who acted supposedly lost and requested for a drink of water. He suddenly pulled out a gun and threatened her to get into the van. She was taken to an old abandoned ranch house where she was handcuffed to the bathroom lavatory. Her husband was asked to pay a ransom and told not to inform the police if the wanted to see her alive. While at their custody, she suddenly came to her senses that she was a child of God and that fear was of the devil; and she started trusting God that no evil would befall her. She kept quoting the scriptures, singing hyms of deliverance and thanking God. She prayed quoting Psalms 91:15 telling the Lord to show her a way to be loose from the abductors. Suddenly, she realized a tiny pipe at the back of the sink. Through the help of God she was able to break through the pipe and got out the house. Twelve miles later, she got to a house with every door locked except the front door. (It was later discovered that the owners of that house never left their doors unlocked except for that particular day). Unknown to the abductors that she had escaped, her husband fixed an appointment to pay them the ransom but the police showed up and they were eventually arrested. She is grateful to God for His covenant of protection in Psalms 91. We do not have to be afraid of the terror of what man can do to us - it will not approach us when we run to God and dwell in His shelter.
