Reflections on chapters 11 & 12 from Kenneth Hagin's book How to be led by the Spirit by Oluwaseun Onaolapo.
Chapter 11: Number Two: The Inward Voice and Chapter 12. Effects of the Spirit's Indwelling
It was established in the previous reflection that the number one way the Holyspirit guides us is through the inward witness. The number two is by the inward voice. We need to allow our consciousness to grasp the fact that the inward man, who is a spirit man, has a voice—just as the outward man has a voice. We call this voice of the inward man conscience. This voice is the still small voice.
Please note that this voice is from our own spirit and not from the Spirit of God but our spirit picks whatever is being voiced to us from the Holy Spirit who is resident in us. For us as children of God, our conscience allows us to know the mind of God. Our spirit man has been renewed because we have been translated from the kingdom of darkness to that of Christ. We no longer live under the influence of the power of darkness.
Colossians 1:13
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.19 For it has pleased [the Father] that all the divine fullness (the sum total of the divine perfection, powers, and attributes) should dwell in Him permanently?
Total acceptance of the finished work in Christ Jesus allows our spirit man to be tuned to the frequency of the Holy Ghost. That is why we usually have the deep feeling of what is right to be done but sometimes we allow our preferences to take over just because we don't want to let go of what suits us. Some of us may be wondering how our conscience has been this relevant.
Acts 23:1
And looking intently at the council, Paul said, “Brothers, I have lived my life before God in all good conscience up to this day.”
Paul always obeyed his conscience.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
When a man is in Christ, his spirit is totally devoid of the nature of the devil. He now has the nature of God in his spirit. It is a wonderful thing to know that by having the nature of God in us, we already have eternal life. Please note that eternal life is not a season to come, the moment we have Christ in us, eternal life becomes activated in us.
1 John 5:13
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.
This nature of ours changes our entire life. We know what to do per time and we are excellent in our different spheres of influence. All that is required of us is to keep feasting on and believing and confessing this truth which is the Word of God. Please remember that you are not saved just to be forgiven of your sins but you're saved to live a life worthy of the nature of God in Christ Jesus; when you have Christ in you, the fullness of God is in you.
