John Shelton is the policy advisor for Advancing American Freedom (founded by Vice President Mike Pence). Previously, he served as an advisor on economic and family policy in the United States Congress.

His work has appeared in various publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Christianity Today, First Things, and Mere Orthodoxy. He received degrees from Duke University (M.Div.) and the University of Virginia (B.A.).
