My research focuses on understanding the impacts of Arctic and Antarctic sea-ice loss on global climate change and weather patterns. I also study major ocean circulation systems, such as the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and ocean gyres, which play a key role in redistributing heat and shaping regional climates. To explore these processes, my lab uses cutting-edge climate models and develops advanced techniques that allow us to adjust specific atmospheric conditions and sea surface temperatures in targeted regions. This approach helps reveal cause-and-effect relationships in the climate system that are otherwise difficult to untangle.
