I serve as the Executive Director at the International Economic Relations Department at the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye. As the ED in this department, I focus on maintaining important relationships with key players in central banking and international institutions community. My main tasks include:
Relations with Investment Banks and Rating Agencies
Engaging with International Organizations such as the IMF, the World Bank, BIS and G20
Bilateral Relations with Cental Banks
Green Economy and Climate Change within International Context
Prior to this, I worked as Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director and Economist at the Structural Economic Research Department; and as an Economist at the Research and Monetary Policy Department.
I received my PhD degree in Economics in 2014, and MA degree in Economics in 2011 from the University of Virginia. I also obtained BA in Economics and BA in Political Science and International Relations degrees from Boğaziçi University.
My research interests are in Labor Economics, International Trade&Firm Dynamics, and Inflation Dynamics. I focus on how institutions and government policies shape labor market outcomes for individuals and firms, including issues such as informality, migration, and wage reporting. I also study how trade-related policies, financial access, and exchange rate fluctuations affect the firm dynamics. My final research interest revolves around pricing behavior and inflation dynamics; with a particular focus on inflation expectations.
