His research goal is developing novel algorithms and methods centered on Interactive Visual Analysis and Communications to solve real-world applications. To achieve this goal, his research covers theoretical foundations to emerging applications in multimedia signal analysis, visual communications, and multimedia systems.
His main applications are image and video analysis and communications for distributed visual sensors and smart tiny camera systems in an interactive heterogeneous environment. His ongoing and completed projects include developing currently visual analysis and communication algorithms for multiple distributed wearable devices to interactively detect, recognize, track, and retrieve object information in a distributed heterogeneous environment, previously a distributed video coding and processing, which is promising for wireless visual sensors, and massively parallel approaches on processor arrays for medical imaging applications.
