He is a data scientist at AP Sensing from 2020. Back then, he was a data scientist who worked on the project "Anomaly detection and analysis in video surveillance", with the Department of Electronics and Informatics (ETRO), Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium, from 2018 to 2020. He was a Humboldt research fellow carrying out his project, entitled "Video analysis and processing for multiple distributed wearable devices" in cooperation with his host, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andre Kaup, Chair of Multimedia Communications and Signal Processing, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany from 2015 to 2018. Before that, he was a postdoctoral researcher with Biomedical Research Imaging Center, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the USA in 2014. He received a Ph.D. degree with the Coding and Visual Communication Group, Technical University of Denmark, Denmark in 2013, where he worked on the distributed video coding and processing project (2010~2013) with his supervisor, Prof. Soren Forchhammer. He received an M.Sc. degree in computer engineering and information technology from the University of Ulsan, Korea, in 2009, working on medical image processing on massively parallel processor arrays with his supervisor, Prof. Jong Myon Kim, in the Embedded System Laboratory (2007~2009). His current interests include data analytics for sensor data, machine learning methods for image and video analysis, image and video analysis and communication, medical image processing, distributed source coding, and multimedia systems.
